TECHNICAL SUPPORT: --------------------- If you require technical support for Viewer, email support@ngrain.com or call (866) 420-1781 and press 4. 8. NEW IN THIS RELEASE: ----------------------- Viewer 4.2 includes a number of enhancements, including: 1) You can now tell at a glance which 3KO you want to open. The Thumbnails view in Windows Explorer now shows an image of the 3KO. Note: Thumbnails show for all 3KOs in which a startup snapshot was captured in Producer 4.1 and later. 2) If tasks are included in a 3KO, they may appear in the Tasks bar instead of in the Tasks panel, depending on how the configuration was set up. The Tasks bar spans a horizontal space under the Viewer workspace and provides more space to display step names and comments in a larger font size. 3) You now may be able to restart a task on any step, depending on how the task was configured. 4) If you complete a task step successfully or fail to complete a task step successfully, you may now automatically proceed to a different step, depending on how the task was configured. 5) The graphic for the Rotation tool has been updated. 9. TROUBLESHOOTING ISSUES: -------------------------- Links to Non-3KO Files Saved on Your Local Computer Will Not Work ================================================================= When using Windows Vista or Windows 7 operating system, links from parts or assemblies to non-3KO files that are saved on your local computer will fail when using Microsoft Internet Explorer 8. To make the links work, you must disable Protected Mode in Internet Explorer. To do this: On the Tools menu, click Internet Options. Then, on the Security tab, clear the Enabled Protected Mode check box. Default Manipulation Mode ========================= If you open a file in Viewer 4.2 or later that has not been saved in Producer 3.1 or later, Viewer starts in "Move Part" mode. However, if you open a file in Viewer 4.2 or later that has been saved in Producer 4.0 or later, Viewer starts in "Rotate All" mode. Cannot Progressively Load Multiple Files Simultaneously ======================================================= A feature of Viewer 3.2 and later is progressive loading, which allows you, when using HTML embedded usage of Viewer, to start interacting with a model before the entire 3KO file is downloaded. However, it is not a good practice to progressively load more than one 3KO file at the same time, as the model geometry will stop being updated at some point during the download process. In this situation clicking the Cancel button on the progress bar (if one is available) has no effect. Instead, you can refresh the HTML page. Cannot Cancel File Loading for Earlier Versions of 3KO Files ============================================================ Under certain circumstances you may see a progress bar while a 3KO file is loading. If you are loading a 3KO saved in Producer 3.1 or earlier, you won't see a Cancel button and, therefore, can't cancel file loading. No progressive loading for HTML embedded 3KOs on Vista ========================================================== When HTML pages with embedded 3KOs are viewed on the Windows Vista operating system, and the HTML page does not have focus, progressive loading of the embedded 3KO does not show. To display progressive loading while loading an HTML page with an embedded 3KO on the Windows Vista operating system, maximize the HTML page while the 3KO is loading or move your mouse and keep the pointer hovered over the Viewer viewing area.
