NGRAIN and CAE Form Technology Partnership to Enhance Modeling and Simulation Solutions
Integrated solution to improve procurement management, mission preparation and training for military and homeland security markets
Orlando, Fla., December 6, 2004 — NGRAIN© and CAE today announced a technology partnership that will see NGRAIN's interactive 3D simulation technology and Product Knowledge Management Solution integrated with CAE's STRIVE™ simulation development framework and CAE Simfinity™ integrated training solutions. The solutions will provide enhanced procurement management, mission preparation and training capabilities for both the military and homeland security markets.
CAE (booth #2629) and NGRAIN (booth #2843) will demonstrate the integrated solutions at the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation, and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) taking place this week in Orlando.
NGRAIN's 3D visualization software will be integrated with CAE's STRIVE as part of a high-fidelity UAV simulator developed by CAE. The UAV simulator is representative of a research test bed that uses simulation and modeling for acquisition, requirements, and training (SMART) as an integral part of the procurement process. The combination of CAE's STRIVE and NGRAIN's 3D software provides users with a high-fidelity, realistic synthetic environment ideal for testing, evaluation, and prototyping of new systems, thereby ensuring that identified solutions meet the stated requirements long before the system is fielded.
"With NGRAIN's interactive 3D software, we can add a greater level of realism to CAE's STRIVE modeling and simulation development environment," said Bruce Miles, Vice President, Business Development, CAE. "Customers are increasingly looking to use simulation for all phases of a project lifecycle and want the ability to reuse the same high-fidelity simulations from design to delivery. In the end, the combination of CAE and NGRAIN technology will help decrease program risks while providing a realistic decision making and mission preparation tool."
In addition, NGRAIN's Product Knowledge Management Solution will be integrated with a CAE Simfinity C-130 Integrated Procedures Trainer (IPT). CAE Simfinity solutions are based on the same simulation software found on CAE's full mission simulators. By incorporating NGRAIN's technology, users will get enhanced 3D visualization in a cost-effective training device for procedural, familiarization, and mission preparation training.
"NGRAIN's solutions make 3D simulations of high-fidelity models more accurate, which helps enhance the overall effectiveness of using simulation for research, testing, and other phases of a weapon systems lifecycle," said Anil Sabharwal, General Manager of technology for NGRAIN. "We look forward to working with CAE to provide comprehensive modeling, simulation, and training solutions."
