General George A. Joulwan (Ret.) Joins NGRAIN Board of Directors

Former NATO Supreme Allied Commander, Europe, to help guide NGRAIN's rapid success within military and defense sectors

VANCOUVER, BC — February 10, 2004— NGRAIN® Corporation, a leading developer of interactive 3D visualization and simulation software tools, today announced that former Supreme Allied Commander, Europe, General George A. Joulwan (Ret.) will join the company's board of directors.

General Joulwan's distinguished career consisted of exemplary military service and foreign policy experience. His final military assignment was as Commander in Chief, United States European Command (CINCEUR) and as NATO's 11th Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR). As CINCEUR, General Joulwan conducted over 20 successful operations in the Balkans, Africa and the Middle East. As a direct result of General Joulwan's leadership as SACEUR, Russian and U.S. troops conducted operations together in Bosnia, a cooperation that was the basis for the historic NATO-Russian Founding Act signed May 1997 in Paris that ended the Cold War. General Joulwan also served as the Commander in Chief of U.S. forces in Central South America, where he was instrumental in bringing peace to El Salvador and democracy to Panama, and professionalizing the militaries of Latin America.

In addition to his 18 years of service in Europe, General Joulwan served two combat tours in Vietnam; served in the Pentagon as the Executive Officer for the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff; and was Special Assistant to the President of the United States. He is a graduate of West Point and holds a master's degree in political science from Loyola University in Chicago.

“General Joulwan's high-level international experience in the armed forces will immensely enhance NGRAIN's continued success within the military and defense industry as we continue to expand and increase our research, offerings and expertise in the area of defense technology,” said Paul Lindahl, president and chief executive officer of NGRAIN. “Combined with the extensive business experience and knowledge of other board members, including Bob Lord and Terry Cunningham, General Joulwan's credentials strengthen our already powerful board and provide a truly valuable asset to our company. We are thrilled and very proud to have him as a member of the NGRAIN organization.”

"I am extremely impressed with the company, its people, and the opportunity that NGRAIN's technology presents to the defense industry,” said General Joulwan. "As a member of the NGRAIN board of directors, I hope to act as a resource and counsel to the NGRAIN team as they explore and develop the future of interactive 3D solutions for this industry and others such as aerospace and advanced manufacturing."
