NGRAIN wins Great Ideas Competition at Department of Defense Maintenance Symposium

Competition recognizes how NGRAIN empowers subject matter experts to produce interactive 3D simulations for maintenance training

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama — October 25, 2005 — NGRAIN announced today that it has been selected as the winner of The Great Ideas Competition at the Department of Defense (DoD) Maintenance Symposium. The competition recognizes promising new technologies, processes or business practices that can transform the way the DoD maintains weapon systems and equipment.

NGRAIN had been chosen as one of five finalists from government and industry to present their ideas on revolutionizing the way the DoD conducts maintenance of complex equipment and machinery. NGRAIN's winning presentation, entitled “Empowering Subject Matter Experts to Rapidly Produce Interactive 3D Simulations for Maintenance Training” detailed the benefits of leveraging 3D simulations for maintenance training:

  • Allow subject matter experts (SMEs) to create and maintain 3D training simulations without reliance on expensive programmers or developers.
  • Dramatically decrease the costs associated with maintenance training.
  • Enable unlimited practice of maintenance procedures with virtual 3D.

NGRAIN's interactive 3D solution for maintenance training is used by defense organizations to accelerate learning on complex equipment and enable first-time right repairs to optimize operational readiness at a lower cost.

Says Paul Lindahl, President and CEO of NGRAIN: “As a company dedicated to solving maintenance training challenges faced by the defense community, we are pleased to have earned this prestigious recognition. We will continue to innovate and advance our solutions to support the DoD's maintenance training objectives.”

The Department of Defense Symposium brings together government and industry representatives to exchange ideas for improving maintenance practices and procedures—via an up-to-the-minute technical program, presentations from senior-level speakers, and dynamic exhibit.
