OVERVIEW
Used in a range of training scenarios from aiding classroom instruction to supplementing hard trainers to providing self-paced distributed learning, NGRAIN Virtual Task Trainer™ (VTT™) is an Internet Explorer-based solution that leverages 3D simulation to train personnel.

In use by all arms of the United States and Canadian militaries, NGRAIN VTT solutions have been found to accelerate training by as much as 60 percent, improve student test scores, and reduce failure rates, while also offering significant cost avoidance.

Based on a proven framework for instructional design, NGRAIN VTT solutions support a range of learning activities, from system orientation to theory of operations to procedures training.

NGRAIN VTT solutions are optionally SCORM-conformant and may be launched and tracked by Learning Management Systems.

PRODUCT CONFIGURATION
Each NGRAIN Virtual Task Trainer (VTT) solution is configured to meet the customer's specific requirements and includes 3D Knowledge Object (3KO) files representing the customer's equipment and approved technical procedures.

As part of the product delivery process, NGRAIN's instructional design team performs an analysis of the customer's training plans and objectives. The results of this analysis drive the configuration of the VTT solution and the organization of customer-specific content within it.

At the same time, NGRAIN works closely with the customer to determine their 3KO requirements, including the level of detail and 3D parts required in each 3KO, and the procedures to be produced.

Throughout the product delivery process, the customer is involved in review and user acceptance testing cycles.

NGRAIN offers optional product installation support, training, and annual maintenance and support.

  3. Depending on your security settings a "File Download" dialog box may appear and you may be given the option to Save or Open the file. After you have made your choice, the file will open.
  4. Navigate to the NGRAIN Producer folder and click to run NGRAINProducer501.exe. Follow the steps presented by the installer to complete the installation of Producer.
  5. Navigate to the NGRAIN Viewer folder and click to run NGRAINViewerPack50.exe installer. Follow the steps presented by the installer to complete the installation of Viewer.
  6. If you wish to use the NGRAIN VRML2 Converter, navigate to that folder and click the VRML2 Converter application to open it.

    • Based on NGRAIN commercial-off-the-shelf software, the NGRAIN Virtual Task Refresher (VTR) is a customized application that leverages 3KO® (3D Knowledge Object™) files — or 3D equipment simulations — to support remote personnel in the performance of operation, maintenance, and repair tasks. VTRs can be deployed by simply copying the application directory onto a CD-ROM, USB Key, or computer hard drive, and can run instantly without performing any installation. VTRs do not require administrator rights to play, leave no footprint on computers, and conform to US Department of Defense Mobile Code policy.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
  • Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional Service Pack 3 (SP3), Windows Vista® Service Pack 2 (SP2), or Windows 7 operating system
  • Microsoft® .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 (SP2 x86 - 32-bit) or .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 (SP2 x64 – 64 bit).
